Why Volunteer?

1. Purpose
To engage animal lovers who want to support the Foundation’s mission through fundraising, outreach, and events that directly benefit the animals at the TJO Adoption Center.
2. Volunteer Roles
Event Helpers
- Assist with setup, registration, raffle sales, and cleanup at fundraising events
- Core Events: Designer Purrrse Bingo, Pawzaar, Jack Rome Memorial 5K, Pets Rock
Fundraising Champions
- Help secure raffle/auction donations from businesses.
- Help distribute event sponsorship packets
Community Outreach Ambassadors
- Staff info tables at fairs/markets, Pop up events
- Share Foundation materials in local businesses or community centers.
- Ex-Distribute Legacy Pamphlets to funeral homes, estate planner offices, senior centers, etc.
- Pet food deliveries to pantries (new idea)
Administrative Helpers
- Assist with mailings, social media content ideas
- Ex-Mailing Dress for Animals materials, Gala invites
- Donor packets, monthly donor folders
Creative Supporters
- Help design or distribute flyers, social media content, or take event photos.
3. Time Commitment
- Flexible — from a few hours at an event to occasional at-home tasks.
- No minimum requirement, but opportunities are offered monthly.
4. Getting Started
- Simple online sign-up form.
- Basic orientation (short video or one-pager about the Foundation and expectations).
- Volunteers added to a monthly email with upcoming opportunities.
5. Recognition
- Thank-you shoutouts on social media.
- “Volunteer of the Month” spotlight.
- Annual appreciation event or small gift (ex: Foundation T-shirt or mug).
- Volunteer t-shirt, tumbler, tote bag
