The Foundation for TJO Animals held a 24‑hour Day of Compassion event, featuring an online giving campaign and a community pet food drive at the TJO Adoption Center to benefit the Reese Fund on June 24th.
The Reese Fund, was created in honor of sweet Reese, a dog who endured unimaginable cruelty at the hands of a human. The Reese Fund provides emergency medical and recovery care for animals who have experienced severe neglect, cruelty, or abuse.
We saw so many friends & supporters stop by with pet food & monetary donations. Supporters also had the opportunity to purchase a Reese T-shirt, and to share their animal stories.
We set a goal of raising $10,000 for the Reese Fund and collecting 400lbs of pet food for the Pet Food Initiative. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we surpassed both goals, raising over $11,000 and collecting nearly 900lbs of pet food, along with an abundance of treats and toys.
It was truly an incredible day, and we could not have done it without you, our community of compassionate supporters. Special thanks to the following businesses that participated in the Pet Food Drive: Market Mentors, Borowski Insurance, Western Mass Veterinary Group, Freedom Credit Union, Springfield City Hall, A.W. Brow''s Pet & Garden and Guiseppe's Pet Care and Photography.
